Hello all my knitting friends: I have exciting news for you! Early this month Pat, Joy, Chris and I went to Indianapolis to attend TNNA (The National Needlework Association Convention.) This is a convention for retailers to see the latest fashions in knitting, new books, patterns, accessories, and of course the beautiful yarns. It was almost overwhelming, but in the four days we were there, we managed to see pretty much everything. No, we could not buy anything, but I could place orders. Some of these include Buffalo yarn which is a beautiful brown, soft, very warm yarn which comes in three different weights, lace, sport and worsted. I ordered some kits which have enough yarn to make a scarf. This yarn comes from a ranch in Texas and is processed (you will never guess) right here in Connecticut in the Stillwater Mill in Easton. The owners are members of the Nutmeg Spinners Guild. I met and chatted with Vivian Hoxbro who is from Denmark and is internationally known as the "Queen of Mitered Knitting". She will be giving a class at The Yarn Garden sometime this fall - date TBA. Her patterns are in a class by themselves, and I am proud to say her kits will be in my shop. See a preview @ www.viv.dk. Some of the other "can't wait to see " are the Tilli Thomas new style bag with straps, more Judi sparkle and glitter yarns and a gorgeous sequined jacket pattern. I also ordered yarn made from corn, a watermelon handbag pattern, new Della Q bags, and so many other surprises. Even the airport provided us with knitting inspiration as we met the two sisters who own Cabin Fever knits. They are from Canada and just delightful. They had their suitcases with samples from their new pattern book which will be out this fall. They gave us a preview of their newest work, and believe me it's to die for! When you come in, be sure to ask about the birthday offer.
See you in the garden,
